Support the build-out and expansion of a high performance computing system, user environment, and demonstration capability. Specifically deploy/update Linux servers, maintain shared storage resources, provide software installation and troubleshooting on Windows workstations, maintain high-speed networking configuration and equipment, and assist in the planning and expansion of these resources to meet program needs.
Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or System Engineering, or related field.
Operating System administration skills for both Red Hat 7 and Windows 7/10 to include building systems up from bare metal, performing software package installation, operating system and application troubleshooting, and implementing security hardening. Ability to rack hardware computer equipment (i.e. servers and networking gear) and cable equipment per datacenter standards. Understanding of TCP/IP networks to appropriately configure computer hardware.
Familiarity with any or all of the following: datacenter design/deployment, storage architectures (block and object-based), network device (switch) level configuration, firewall rule implementation, and security hardening best practices. Red Hat, Microsoft, Security+, or CASP certifications very useful.
