Overview

The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for a suite of hardware comprising Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux and Windows (limited) operating systems.  The infrastructure will consist of Virtualized systems, and bare metal servers.  These systems are required to support a variety of projects and range from development environments to high availability environments.

Qualifications

Education:

B.S in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.  5-10 years of experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.

 

Required Skills:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • System administration and configuration experience in Linux and VMWare or RHEV
  • Background and some experience with Kickstart and Puppet configurations
  • System configuration experience with Enterprise Identity Management tools (LDAP, IPA, etc.)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Desired Skills:

  • Plan and propose infrastructure upgrades, acquisitions and configuration changes
  • Communicate with a variety of hardware and software vendors to receive quotes and resolve infrastructure challenges
  • Coordinate system, application and network administrators supporting development and integration environments
  • Provide hands-on support, maintenance, performance monitoring, and optimization of 50 plus servers in a thin client environment
  • Experience with constructing and configuration of data Cloud environment using Map Reduce/Hadoop and Government Software
  • Experience in VM life-cycle management (snapshots)
  • System configuration experience with SAN's (NetApp/Panasas)
  • System administration experience in Windows and/or Solaris
  • Experience with thin client systems accessing server based architecture
  • ICD 503 or DCID 6/3 experience

Security Requirement:

Candidate must posses and active Top Secret/SCI clearance
