Solers seeks a highly adaptable, self-starting database engineer with proficiency in Oracle RDBMS and high-rate OLTP applications.   The qualified candidate should have experience designing database schemas along with using Oracle facilities and features to build and modify database instances.  The candidate will use Oracle facilities and features including: RAC, Exadata, OID, OLS and Spatial Indexing.  The candidate should be skilled in writing SQL, PL/SQL and familiar with Object-relational mapping (ORM) techniques, such as Hibernate.

This person will be creating and modifying database structures and software as part of a small, fast paced team.  There will be DB development for new applications and upgrades to existing DB’s already deployed.


Desired Education:

B.S in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent work experience (10-15 years).



  • 5+ years database development focused on high volume OLTP applications.
  • Oracle facilities: ASM, RMAN, RAC, OID and OLS
  • Full working knowledge of Oracle database components: storage/table spaces, schemas, indices, partitions, aliases, constraints and triggers.
  • The list of tools/libraries/architectures that a candidate should be knowledgeable of are:

SQL including Data Manipulation Language (DML) and Data Definition Language (DDL), PL/SQL, Development Tools: SQL Developer and SQL Developer Data Modeler, Oracle Enterprise Manager.



  • Understand the performance factors of database design decisions, and techniques for improving performance.
  • Understand the fundamentals of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) mechanisms and have experience in implementing them for high volume transactions.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with Oracle Exadata Appliance
  • NetApp network storage systems and fabrics
  • Unix/Linux Operating System familiarity and scripting

  • Must currently hold an active TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance
